Tea tree liquid soap 5 Sep 2016

18 09 2016

My sister asked for some liquid soap with tea tree oil… a long time ago. I’ve finally made some.

I’ve made liquid soap with only olive and coconut oil. I thought if I added some castor oil, that would make it easier to get the consistency I like. I was correct. I got it first try; none of the adding a few ounces of water at a time then finding I added just a bit too much and it went straight from the consistency of cranberry jelly to running like water. On the down side, it’s cloudy. Not only that, it separates. You can see it on the bottle in the front. Both test Ph neutral and suds just fine though. Caster oil soap just doesn’t like to hang out with olive oil soap. Options are to shake, or just don’t bother. I suppose next time, I’ll go without the caster oil and just struggle with the water amount.
